Each of my block print clothing pieces are handmade in the Pink City of Jaipur where I have specifically chosen to create everything in small batches. Many of the items that I produce are created from excess fabrics as I believe it is important to try and use materials that already exist in India. To try and help minimise further waste of the fabrics, my partners in Jaipur create hair scrunchies out of the fabric cut offs, which I often have available on my stall at local events.

The process of block printing is one of my favourite Indian crafts since first visiting a block print factory in 2009. Made from Indian Rosewood, the blocks for the craft are hand-carved before being used to print the design onto cotton. Each block is dipped into natural dye before being stamped individually onto the fabric. As the block is stamped repeatedly by hand, each pattern is unique and the print may vary slightly across the piece.
